Zimbabwe’s gigantic construction and infrastructure company, Zimbuild, is set to partner with Malaysian construction companies in advanced construction technologies. The developments were revealed during the BuildXpo Malaysia 2023, an International Construction Transformation Conference (ICTC) in Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia.

Speaking at the sidelines of the well celebrated construction conference themed’Leading ESG in Construction’ Zimbuild Managing Director Dr Tinashe Manzungu said that several Malaysian companies have expressed their keenness in investing in the company.

“The conference has given us a great opportunity for us to connect with other construction giants across the globe. We are very much interested in the key segments of the exhibition such as the construction technology and IBS; construction materials; construction equipment; construction machinery; systems and services; and start up’s in the construction industries. So far we have met with interested parties from Malaysia who are keen on investing into the advanced technologies in construction and infrastructure to modernize the structures and systems.” said Manzungu.

The construction and infrastructure guru said that there are also other investors that are looking for long term investments in Southern Africa through Zimbabwe in order to bridge the funding gaps in construction and infrastructure.

“As Zimbuild we have been hosting native conferences on construction and it has been a learning curve and we are now looking at modernizing our construction framework. So we are also here to learn from Malaysian construction expertise.”

“Indeed we have been seeing the modernization of construction 5.0 happening in Malaysia and how other countries globally have been transitioning in the same direction. Also a simple case of infrastructure funding where we see that the Export Import Bank of Malaysia is also taking part in developing the world and Africa’s key strategic point as well as developing the world and we are looking forward to further engagement as we have already started to do so from an industrial point of view we see Zimbabwe going in this kind of direction in the construction industry. As Zimbabwe and Sadc there is expression of interest from Malaysia to put in fully their technological construction 5.0
in Africa.”

Manzungu said that the conference aims at exposing the globe to Sustainable Financial Initiatives, Affordable Housing Finance, Green Building Projects and Modern Construction Methods.

Hosted by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia and managed by Qube IntegratedSdn Bhd (QUBE), the BuildXpo 2023 aims to be the Asia’s Premier business platform for construction and building industry, anticipating RM1billion worth of business transactions.
