A New Dawn
Tracy Chapman is best known for songs that provoke social consciousness. I remember growing up as a young person listening to her belching out the tune, ‘Talking about a revolution.’ Such songs are transgenerational and have stood the test of time. Revolutions have been an essential phenomenon of human existence since time immemorial. In its simplest form, a revolution is a fundamental and relatively sudden change in political power, social structure, economic conditions, or cultural values.
The Beauty of a Revolution
Revolutions can take many forms and occur in various contexts, but they generally involve significant, often rapid, transformations that alter the established order. A case in point is the demise of the political majority of the ANC in South Africa. The result is the coming together of most South African political players to form a grand coalition, now famously called the Government of National Unity. Nobody in the yesteryears ever envisaged the DA and ANC being the key players in a GNU. That is the power and beauty of a revolution, it makes impossibility possible.
How is Your Scoreboard?
As I stand on the sidelines of this great and influential act, I realize that the year is in auto cruise and we just started the last half of 2024. The natural thing for me is to check how far my good friends and I are going in terms of goal accomplishment. I am yearning to hear the good news of how you were able to meet your half-year goals at this juncture. I am itching to hear how concomitant your goals were to your strategies. It is important as a leader that you are always on top of your game concerning your personal development. However, this is practically possible if you pursue a personal evolution agenda.
Clarity on Personal Evolution
To execute an effective personal evolution, we need to have a clear understanding of the same. Personal evolution refers to the process of growing and improving oneself over time. This can involve various aspects of life, including personal development, emotional growth, and intellectual enhancement. I am fully persuaded as argued by Jim Rohn that you are the most important part of your success story hence work so much on yourself than on your job. Personal evolution involves self-awareness, emotional intelligence, goal setting, learning and development, and a plethora of many others.
Mind Your Inner Circle
All personal evolution should be anchored on purpose and meaning. Dr Myles Munroe, the late great philosopher once submitted that where the purpose is not known abuse becomes unavoidable. I further state that failure becomes the order of the day. Purpose has to be bigger than egos if results are to be accomplished. This possibly explains why there is no room for ANC stalwart Fikile Mbalula in the new South African dispensation. The purpose is bigger than personal sentiments and affiliations. What is of interest is that your evolution is affected by your inner circle. This is why at times people with huge influence may fall by the roadside to pave the way for new players. Your inner circle can quicken or slow down your transformation. Success is usually but not always, a product of aligning your values with your belief system.
Kingmakers and Powerbrokers
Relationships are the common bond between evolutions and revolutions. For the GNU to be birthed in South Africa, some people had relationships across the divide, hence becoming the bridge to the new dispensation. Nothing ever happens without the involvement of the Kingmakers and powerbrokers in the political domain. The earth belongs to Jehovah God but He has delegated His authority to humanity hence the need to honour human offices and enable the nation to go forward.

Unraveling the Evolution Strategies
Most people aspire to succeed and become the benchmark of excellence. However, they never prepare on how to get the job done. Strategy is key to success in all that you may choose to do. Allow me to share some personal strategies that I have used in building my personal evolution blueprint:
Journaling: I love keeping a journal to track my progress and reflect on my experiences. The journaling of matters is a good way of capturing the essential aspects of my life. I hope you can do so as well. The Canadians love to say, ‘If it isn’t written, it is not real’
Mentorship: Seeking guidance from mentors who can provide wisdom and advice. I am grateful to the men and women who have mentored me along the way. There is wisdom in the gray heads and mentors. Among multitudes of advice, there is a significant amount of wisdom generated.
Education: Education is one eliminator of ignorance. I hold a couple of doctorates and am still pursuing a couple of them. Knowledge is power and that power must be harnessed for the good of humanity. Enrolling in courses or reading books on topics of interest. Anyone who invests ten thousand hours in any subject matter becomes the equivalent of a master even without certification.
Spiritual Practices: Engaging in activities like meditation, worshipping, mind-stretching goals, or deep breathing exercises. As a human being, you need to be in touch with your spiritual side. That is where Jesus Christ comes in since He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
Feedback: Focused leaders cannot do without feedback. Feedback is the breakfast of champions and the diet of winners. Seeking constructive feedback from others will enable you to gain new perspectives. Feedback will help you stretch yourself to the next level of excellence.
Personal evolution is a continuous journey that involves being proactive and intentional about your growth. It’s about becoming the best version of yourself and living a fulfilling life. I trust l have provoked you to have a paradigm shift and move on to the next gear of life.
May Africa Rise
Jesus Christ remains the Avogadro constant and the ultimate mantle of leadership. Follow him and people will follow you. He is the real deal and in Mbalula’s words, ‘The paragon of perfection’. We pray for the love, wisdom, and leadership of Christ to be manifested in South Africa. As South Africa rises, may the mother continent rise to fulfill its potential? You are rising to conquer. All things are possible for those who believe.
