MASERU, Lesotho – The spirit of camaraderie and compassion filled the streets of Maseru on Sunday as cyclists from across the nation gathered to celebrate the 3rd Annual Tour de Frontline cycling event hosted by The Market Restaurant.
Led by tour captain, Teboho Shelile, this year’s event marked a significant milestone in the journey of Tour de Frontline, which has been tirelessly working towards empowering vulnerable communities for the past four and a half years.
Tour de Frontline, The Market championing women’s cause
In his opening address, Tšeliso Lesenya, who delivered the speech on behalf of the Ministry of Communication Science and Technology, commended the collective efforts of Tour de Frontline and The Market Restaurant in championing the cause of women and young girls in Lesotho. Under the theme “Empower Her Ride,” this year’s initiative aimed at shining the limelight on the challenges faced by vulnerable women and girls while providing them with the support and resources needed to thrive.
“The Empower Her Ride initiative stands as a beacon of hope and progress, dedicated to the empowerment of women and young girls in our beloved nation,” Lesenya said.
“It is a testament to our collective resolve to champion equality, justice, and opportunity for all members of our society.”
Tour de Frontline runs through several cities from Cape Town to Maseru
Throughout the tour, which kicked off in Cape Town before making its way through the Free State, Mbabane, Johannesburg, and finally, Maseru, cyclists raised funds by selling mileage to corporate sponsors.
The generosity of The Lesotho sponsors, including Lesotho TV, Alliance Group Investment Holdings Company, Aluwani, Mergence, and Lesotho Times, enabled Tour de Frontline to support several charitable organisations, including Matholeng Children’s Home, Morate Cerebral Palsy Association, Unheard Voices, Mokhalinyane Nutrition Club, and Khaya Holdings.

Tour de Frontline fostering unity, compassion
