LESOTHO Pick ‘n Pay Lesotho shoppers can now enjoy massive price knockdowns after the chain store introduced the Smart Shopper loyalty programme in Lesotho this week.
While the onboarding of shoppers started on Wednesday, one of the top managers in Lesotho, Sam Mphana, told Africa News 24 that they would officially launch the programme on 23 November 2023.
South Africa launched the Smart Shopper programme in 2011, and Mphana said they had taken so long to introduce it in Lesotho because they were supposed to come up with different terms and conditions.
“Smart Shopper as we know it in South Africa, is different. In Lesotho, customers do not accumulate points but they get instant discounts unlike in South Africa,” Mphana said.
On Wednesday, the first day of registration, agents said they had over 1 000 people at Pioneer Mall alone, and Mphana said they were on course to onboarding 35 000 people by 16 December.
“We have about 127 000 followers on our Facebook page. We hope to onboard 35 000 by 16 December although the official launch of Smart Shopper in Lesotho will be on 23 November 2023.
“One of the biggest benefits for this programme is that there will be Smart Shopper specific discounts for card holders. Unlike the rest of the customers who only get discounts once of twice a month, Smart Shopper customers will enjoy lots of discounts that will be rolled out continuously as long as they have their card.”
Smart Shopper clients will also get notifications via email or SMS, Mphana said.
