…fingerprint kits donation meant to bolster law LMPS’ law enforcement capabalities

MASERU, Lesotho – The United States’ Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) has donated 18 fingerprint kits to the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS) a significant move that will to bolster law enforcement capabilities in Lesotho.
The donation underscored the partnership between the United States and Lesotho in strengthening security cooperation and promoting justice in the Kingdom.
According to Ambassador Maria Brewer, the finger print kits represented more than just tools; they symbolised the shared commitment between the two nations to enhance security and justice in Lesotho. The LMPS has previously received training in the use of such equipment through the embassy, with the first batch of kits donated in Qacha’s Nek.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Ambassador Brewer expressed her gratitude to Commissioner Molibeli and the entire LMPS for their dedication to Lesotho. She emphasised the importance of security cooperation in fostering peace and stability within the country.

Deputy LMPS Commissioner Mahlape Morai described the donation as a historic moment for both the LMPS and the American Embassy.
