A group of six men appeared at the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court facing charges related to the murder of Kaizer Chiefs Football Club’s player, Luke Fleurs.
Ndumiso Moswane (26), Fernando Sive (25), Nhlakanipho Dlamini (21), Franky Xaba (25), Maredi Mphahlele (36) and Thembinkosi Hlomikhawu (31), were all arrested in Slovoville on 10 April 2024, when members of Provincial Investigating Unit of the South African Police Service followed information about the whereabouts of Fleurs’ vehicle that was hijacked in Honeydew, on 3 April 2024.
Fleurs had remained in the car with one other occupant
Fleurs was at a filling station with three of his friends when he was allegedly approached by two males armed with firearms. The duo had alighted from a BMW and they approached Fleurs while his friends were inside the shop at the filling station.
“They removed Fleurs and another occupant from his vehicle and immediately occupied the vehicle. As they were driving off, Fleurs tried to grab the door and one of the alleged hijackers then fired at him.
